Learn more about Aventura

No matter how many Florida Man stories there are, people continue to move to The Sunshine State. When they do, they look for less inexpensive areas close to famous cities and popular attractions. One of these locations is the city of Aventura.

Description

Aventura is a planned development with a population of nearly 38,000. It’s right in the middle of South Florida’s two biggest cities — Miami and Fort Lauderdale. At 12 miles north and south of the respective areas, Aventura is a little more than 10 minutes away from their attractions and nightlife.

Composition

The city is comprised of a dense urban area surrounded by modern single-family homes and condominiums. Home prices vary depending on the location. Condos and homes on the water will be more expensive than those inland.

Palm-lined streets greet residents and visitors in every section of the city. Built over the water, the city of Aventura has numerous lakes and tributaries. Many of them lead directly to the Atlantic Ocean and the beaches of South Florida.

Schools

Education institutions in the city are connected to the Miami-Dade School District. A mix of public and charter schools, all of them are highly rated. Nevertheless, when relocating to the area, it’s best to review the schools that serve the neighborhood you’re interested in.

Attractions

The area is well-known is the area’s mall. The third largest in the U.S., the shopping and dining venue features a mix of upscale boutiques and anchor stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom. It also features a large food hall and a 24-theatre cinema.

Another popular attraction is the Marriott Turnberry Resort & Spa. With a Mediterranean-style design, the retreat offers guests a deluxe spa treatment. Also, they can stroll along the resort’s lake, take a dip in their pool, or play a round of golf on their 18-hole course.

Recreation

In a few minutes, residents can be over one of the city’s causeways and on South Florida’s famous white-sand beaches. Those who want a break from the crowds can head to nearby Oleta State River Park. This quieter space allows visitors to kayak, fish, or hike.

In fact, being on the water allows for numerous aquatic sports. In addition to kayaking and swimming, residents can learn to surf, canoe, and fish. There are also miles of trails for people to stroll along the shore or watch the sunset.

In the end, Aventura is a fine middle ground for those who want to be in the heart of Miami life but not pay for it. With its concentrated urban environment and abundant recreational opportunities, the city is right for families and retirees who want to enjoy everything that South Florida provides.
